Mocumentary

Mocumentary, a portmanteau of the words 'mock' and 'documentary', is a genre that takes the form of a serious documentary in order to satirize its subject or deliver a parody. The films that fall under this category are often humorous, sometimes dramatic, and always present a blend of reality and fiction. Mocumentaries frequently use improvisation and hand-held cameras to create a realistic, documentary-like aesthetic. Some popular examples of mocumentaries include 'Black Dynamite', 'Mean Girls', and 'Cannibal Holocaust' (although the latter is a horror-mocumentary). The mocumentary format allows filmmakers to explore a variety of themes and topics, while still providing an entertaining viewing experience for audiences.
