Simone Segre, a distinguished surgeon of Jewish heritage, leads a calm and orderly life in a city nestled in the northeast of Italy. He resides in a stylish apartment and has deliberately distanced himself from the memories of his past, seeking solace in his present. His world is turned upside down one fateful day when he assists a man injured in a hit-and-run accident, only to uncover a shocking symbol: a Nazi tattoo emblazoned on the man's chest. Overwhelmed by complex emotions, Simone abandons the injured man, leaving him to face his grim fate alone.
