Meet Timothy David Olyphant, an American actor who first graced the stage in an off-Broadway theater in 1995 with his debut in "The Monogamist," a performance that earned him the Theatre World Award. In 1996, he brought David Sedaris' "The Santaland Diaries" to life.
Olyphant's career took a cinematic turn, and he became known for his villainous roles in films like "Scream 2" (1997), "Go" (1999), "A Man Apart" (2003), "Gone in 60 Seconds" (2000), and "The Girl Next Door" (2004).
His breakthrough role came in HBO's western series "Deadwood" (2004-2006), where he played Sheriff Seth Bullock, capturing the attention of a wider audience. He went on to star in films such as "Catch and Release" (2006), "Hitman" (2007), "A Perfect Getaway" (2009), and "The Crazies" (2010), as well as playing the main antagonist, Thomas Gabriel, in "Live Free or Die Hard" (2007).
In 2020, Olyphant made a brief cameo in the NBC award-winning show "The Good Place," parodying his "Justified" character. He also appeared in season 10 of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and in the fourth season of "Fargo." In the same year, he joined the "Star Wars" universe, playing Cobb Vanth in the second season of "The Mandalorian" and later reprising the role in "The Book of Boba Fett."
