Having recently returned from his travels abroad, Qin Huole's worldly experiences and keen intellect make him a formidable force in the face of these mysterious challenges.

As Qin Huole becomes increasingly drawn into the web of intrigue that envelops Jiangcheng, he finds an unlikely ally in Detective Captain Song He, played by Caesar Wu. Together, these two form an unstoppable duo, united in their pursuit of justice and truth. Their complimentary skills and unwavering determination allow them to navigate the treacherous and unpredictable landscape of Jiangcheng, as they strive to uncover the dark secrets that lurk beneath the city's surface.

To aid them in their quest, Qin Huole and Song He enlist the help of forensic doctor Fan Xiaofan, a brilliant medical mind with a unique insight into the macabre cases that plague Jiangcheng. As the trio delves deeper into the shadowy corners of the city, they must confront not only the external forces that threaten its stability but also the personal demons that haunt their own pasts. Together, they must find a way to restore order and bring light to a city shrouded in darkness, all while protecting the fragile bonds of trust and friendship that bind them together.
