In "Saint Seiya: Evil Goddess Eris," the story begins with the Bronze Saints—Seiya, Hyōga, and Shun—visiting their beloved Saori, who is also known as Athena, at an orphanage. There, they encounter a compassionate employee named Eri, herself an orphan with a gentle nature. Eri quickly forms a bond with Hyōga, and one serene night, the two sit beneath the stars, marveling at a shooting star. In a moment tinged with hope and innocence, Hyōga asks Eri to make a wish upon the celestial spectacle.
However, the peaceful evening takes a dark turn when Eri becomes mysteriously captivated by the shooting star's power. Drawn into the woods under its ethereal glow, she discovers a golden apple, a mystical artifact with ominous significance. Unbeknownst to her, Eri becomes possessed by Eris, the Goddess of Discord, whose malevolent spirit harnesses the apple's energy. Driven by Eris's influence, Eri abducts Athena, intending to drain her divine energy using the golden apple to trigger her full reincarnation and seize control over the world.
Determined to rescue their goddess and thwart the cosmic threat, the Bronze Saints embark on a perilous journey to the reappeared temple of Eris, nestled high in the mountains. There, they face fierce opposition from the five Ghost Saints—Maya of Sagitta, Orpheus of Lyra, Christ of the Southern Cross, Jan of Scutum, and Jäger of Orion. The battle tests their courage and strength as they strive to overcome the chaos sown by Eris and save Athena from the grip of darkness.
