"Practical Magic" follows the story of Sally and Gillian Owens, two sisters born into a long line of witches, portrayed by Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman respectively. Despite their magical heritage, the Owens sisters have largely chosen to lead ordinary lives, steering clear of witchcraft and its complexities. However, their peaceful existence is disrupted when Gillian's abusive boyfriend, Jimmy Angelov, meets an unexpected and mysterious death.
