About Rick Hoffman
Rick Hoffman, born on June 12, 1970, in New York City and raised in Roslyn Heights, New York, began his acting journey after graduating from The Wheatley School in Old Westbury, NY, and the University of Arizona. His career took off with a small role as a security guard in the 1997 film Conspiracy Theory, where he flubbed his lines but received laughs from the crew, including Julia Roberts and Richard Donner, leading to some well-deserved attention.
Hoffman's breakout role came in 2000 as Freddie Sacker in Darren Star's Wall Street series, The $treet, which allowed him to quit his waiting tables job and move back to New York. He then gained recognition in series like Terry Loomis on Steven Bochco's law drama Philly and Jerry Best on The Bernie Mac Show. His impressive performances earned him a spot in Variety magazine's 10 Actors to Watch.
In addition to his TV work, Hoffman has made several memorable appearances in movies such as The Day After Tomorrow, Blood Work, Hostel, Cellular, and The Condemned. During the filming of The Condemned in Australia, he even experienced a near-death situation.
