Ralph Nathaniel Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes, born on December 22, 1962, is a distinguished English actor, film producer, and director. An acclaimed ambassador for UNICEF UK since 1999, Fiennes is particularly recognized for his interpretations of Shakespeare, marking the beginning of his successful career on stage at the Royal National Theatre. His film debut came with the role of Heathcliff in Emily Brontë's adaptation of Wuthering Heights.

Fiennes is perhaps best known for his gripping portrayal of Nazi war criminal Amon Göth in Steven Spielberg's Schindler's List (1993), a performance that earned him Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for Best Supporting Actor, along with a BAFTA Award win in the same category. His nuanced role as Count Almásy in The English Patient (1996) garnered him another Academy Award nomination for Best Actor, along with additional nominations from BAFTA and the Golden Globes.
