About Peter Scanavino
Peter Scanavino, born on February 29, 1980, is an American actor known for his extensive work in film and television since 2005. He has appeared in numerous minor roles, notably in the film Deception (2008) and acclaimed TV series such as The Good Wife and The Blacklist. Early in his career, Scanavino guest-starred on NBC's Law & Order: Criminal Intent as Johnny Feist, and later appeared on Law & Order as a suspect in the 2009 episode "Just A Girl in the World." In 2013, he guest-starred on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (SVU) as Johnny Dubcek and starred in the indie romantic comedy Mutual Friends. The following year, he joined SVU's sixteenth season as Detective Dominick "Sonny" Carisi Jr., initially in a recurring role before being promoted to the main cast. His character is portrayed as a somewhat brash, inexperienced detective who challenges the status quo but grows into his role. In 2020, Scanavino appeared in an episode of Netflix's anthology series Social Distance, playing the father of his real-life son, Leo Bai-Scanavino.
