Meet Paul Franklin Dano, an American actor who first made a splash on Broadway before transitioning to the big screen in "The Newcomers" (2000). Dano's breakout role came in the independent film "L.I.E." (2001), which won him the Independent Spirit Award for Best Debut Performance.

His career continued to soar with his critically acclaimed performance as Dwayne Hoover in the quirky comedy "Little Miss Sunshine" (2006). In 2007, Dano received a BAFTA nomination for his dual roles as Paul and Eli Sunday in Paul Thomas Anderson's "There Will Be Blood."

Dano has since delivered compelling performances in a variety of films, including Steve McQueen's "12 Years a Slave" (2013), Denis Villeneuve's "Prisoners" (2013), and the biographical drama "Love & Mercy" (2014), where he portrayed musician Brian Wilson. This role earned him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
