Michael Christopher Sheen, a Welsh actor and activist, was born on February 5, 1969. He began his career on the stage, performing in numerous plays throughout the 1990s, including Romeo and Juliet, Don't Fool With Love, Peer Gynt, The Seagull, The Homecoming, and Henry V. His standout performances in Amadeus at the Old Vic and Look Back in Anger at the National Theatre earned him Olivier Award nominations in 1998 and 1999. In 2003, he received his third Olivier Award nomination for his role in Caligula at the Donmar Warehouse.

Since the 2000s, Sheen has gained recognition as a screen actor, appearing in a series of biographical films. He portrayed British politician Tony Blair in a trilogy of films: The Deal (2003), The Queen (2006), and The Special Relationship (2010), earning BAFTA and Emmy nominations for his performances. Sheen also received BAFTA nominations for his roles as troubled comic actor Kenneth Williams in BBC Four's Fantabulosa! (2006) and broadcaster David Frost in Frost/Nixon (2006).

In addition to his biographical roles, Sheen has appeared in various film and television productions, including The Damned United (2009), Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (2009), The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009), Tron: Legacy (2010), Midnight in Paris (2011), and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 (2012). From 2013 to 2016, Sheen appeared in Showtime's television drama Masters of Sex, earning a Golden Globe nomination for his role. He played an incarcerated serial killer surgeon in Fox's 2019 drama, Prodigal Son, and an angel in the 2019 BBC/Amazon Studios miniseries Good Omens. In 2020, Sheen portrayed Chris Tarrant in Quiz.
