About Meghan Ory
Meghan Ory, born on August 20, 1982, in Victoria, British Columbia, is a Canadian television and film actress standing 5 feet 7 inches (1.70 m) tall. She gained widespread recognition for her role as Red Riding Hood/Ruby Lucas on ABC's fantasy series Once Upon a Time, and currently stars as Riley Neal in the CBS drama Intelligence.
Ory began nurturing her acting aspirations early, receiving the Fine Arts Award for Acting from Royal Oak Middle School in 1996. She pursued professional acting from 1999, debuting in the Fox Family Channel movie The Darklings alongside Suzanne Somers and Timothy Busfield. Early television roles included guest appearances on The Crow: Stairway to Heaven and regular roles in Fox Family's Higher Ground and the Canadian series Vampire High.
Her TV career expanded with appearances in The Outer Limits, Dark Angel, Glory Days, and Series like Smallville and The Collector. Ory made her feature film debut in 2004's Decoys. Other notable projects include Hallmark's Merlin's Apprentice, John Tucker Must Die, Blonde and Blonder, and television appearances in Flash Gordon, Knight Rider, Sanctuary, and the horror thriller Dark House.
In 2011, Ory's portrayal of Red Riding Hood/Ruby Lucas on Once Upon a Time earned her promotion to the main cast in season two before departing at its conclusion, though she remains open to guest appearances. In 2013, she secured the female lead in CBS’s Intelligence alongside Josh Holloway and Marg Helgenberger.
Beyond her career, Ory shares a longstanding friendship with actress A.J. Cook, with whom she worked early in her career. She married actor John Reardon, her co-star from Merlin's Apprentice, in 2008.
