Melissa Viviane Jefferson, professionally known as Lizzo, is an American singer, rapper, and songwriter born on April 27, 1988, in Detroit, Michigan. She began her musical journey in Houston, Texas, performing in local scenes before moving to Minneapolis, where she started her recording career focused on hip hop music. Lizzo independently released two studio albums, "Lizzobangers" (2013) and "Big Grrrl Small World" (2015), which helped establish her unique style and presence in the music industry.
