Jonathan Scott Frakes, born on August 19, 1952, is an accomplished American actor, author, and director. He is widely recognized for his iconic role as Commander William T. Riker in the television series Star Trek: The Next Generation and its subsequent films. Beyond acting, Frakes hosted the TV series Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction, where he engaged viewers with a mix of real and fictional stories. In 2011, he narrated the History Channel documentary Lee and Grant, and lent his voice to the character David Xanatos in the Disney animated series Gargoyles. Frakes also directed and acted in the Star Trek films Star Trek: First Contact and Star Trek: Insurrection, and authored the book The Abductors: Conspiracy.
