About Jessie Buckley
Jessie Buckley, the talented Irish actress and singer, is a graduate of the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She first caught the public's eye in 2008 when she was a runner-up on the BBC TV talent show 'I'd Do Anything'. Since then, she's been on quite a journey, earning herself a Laurence Olivier Award and even being nominated for an Academy Award and three BAFTA Awards. In fact, she was ranked at number 38 on The Irish Times' list of Ireland's greatest film actors of all time in 2020.
Jessie's early appearances on the small screen include roles in BBC television series such as 'War and Peace' (2016), where she played Marya Bolkonskaya, 'Taboo' (2017) as Lorna Bow, and 'The Woman in White' (2018) as Marian Halcombe. But it was her role as Moll Huntford in the film 'Beast' (2017) that marked her big-screen debut.
Since then, she's taken on a variety of roles, including Rose-Lynn Harlan in 'Wild Rose' (2018), for which she was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. She also played Lyudmilla Ignatenko in the HBO miniseries 'Chernobyl' (2019), the Young Woman in 'I'm Thinking of Ending Things' (2020), and Oraetta Mayflower in season four of 'Fargo' (2020). Her performance as young Leda in 'The Lost Daughter' (2021) earned her a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
In 2019, Forbes recognized Jessie's talent by including her in their annual 30 under 30 list. And in 2021, she starred as Sally Bowles in a West End revival of 'Cabaret', winning the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical.
