About Eugene Levy
Eugene Levy CM is a versatile Canadian actor, comedian, television director, producer, musician, and writer renowned for his extensive work in both Canadian television and American films. He is uniquely recognized as the only actor to have appeared in all seven American Pie movies, portraying the memorable character Noah Levenstein. From 1976 to 1984, Levy showcased his comedic talent on the acclaimed Canadian sketch comedy series SCTV. A frequent collaborator with actor-director Christopher Guest, Levy co-wrote and performed in four of Guest's films, beginning with Waiting for Guffman in 1996. His creative contributions earned him a Grammy Award in 2004 for Best Song Written for Visual Media for "A Mighty Wind," and in 2008, he received the prestigious Governor General's Performing Arts Award, Canada's highest artistic honor. Levy's outstanding performances led to multiple accolades, including four Primetime Emmy Awards, notably winning Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in 2020. He was honored with an appointment to the Order of Canada in 2011. Between 2015 and 2020, he starred as Johnny Rose in the hit comedy series Schitt's Creek, which he co-created alongside his son and co-star Dan Levy. His family played significant roles as well, with his daughter Sarah Levy portraying Twyla Sands and his brother Fred Levy serving as a producer on the show.
