About Daniel Radcliffe
Meet Daniel Jacob Radcliffe, a talented English actor who stole our hearts as the young wizard Harry Potter! Born on July 23, 1989, Radcliffe started his acting journey at the age of 10 in the BBC One television film David Copperfield (1999). He then made his feature film debut in The Tailor of Panama (2001).
Radcliffe's big break came in 2001 when he was cast as Harry Potter in the film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's fantasy novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Over the next decade, he captivated us in seven sequels, culminating with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 (2011). As the boy who lived, he became a household name, earned a fortune, and won critical acclaim.
After Harry Potter, Radcliffe showcased his versatility in various film genres. He starred in the romantic comedy What If? (2013), played a haunted lawyer in The Woman in Black (2012), portrayed poet Allen Ginsberg in Kill Your Darlings (2013), explored science-fiction horror in Victor Frankenstein (2015), and even played a sentient corpse in Swiss Army Man (2016). His other film credits include Now You See Me 2 (2016), Imperium (2016), The Lost City (2022), and Weird: The Al Yankovic Story (2022).
Radcliffe has also graced the stage, making his West End and Broadway debut in the production of Equus (2007). He then starred as J. Pierrepont Finch in the Broadway revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (2011-2012). His stage career continued with The Cripple of Inishmaan (2013-2014) in the West End and Broadway, a revival of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead (2017) at The Old Vic, and satirical plays Privacy (2016) and The Lifespan of a Fact (2018) off and on Broadway. In 2022, he returned to the New York Theatre Workshop in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along.
