About Cillian Murphy
Meet Cillian Murphy, the talented Irish film and theater actor renowned for his shape-shifting performances and striking blue eyes. Although he hails from Cork, he has made London his home since 2001 and has no plans to relocate to Hollywood. He prefers to keep a low profile, giving interviews about his work but avoiding the spotlight of television talk shows and keeping his private life under wraps.
Murphy began his career in the arts as a rock musician before transitioning to acting. He made his professional debut in the play "Disco Pigs" in 1996 and has since appeared in numerous Irish and UK film and stage productions. He gained international recognition in the post-apocalyptic film "28 Days Later" and is best known for his collaborations with director Christopher Nolan, including the Dark Knight trilogy, "Inception," and "Dunkirk."
In 2013, Murphy took on the lead role of Thomas Shelby in the BBC series "Peaky Blinders," which has received critical acclaim and is currently in its fifth season. Despite his success, Murphy remains grounded and values his close-knit group of friends, many of whom he has known since before he became a star.
Murphy is also a devoted family man, married to his long-time girlfriend, Yvonne McGuinness, since 2004. They have two sons, Malachy and Aaron, and reside in northwest London. When he's not working, Murphy enjoys spending time with his family and pursuing his hobbies, all while staying out of the tabloids.
