About Ben Affleck

Meet Ben Affleck, a talented American actor and filmmaker who has received two Academy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards throughout his career! Ben started his acting journey as a child in the PBS educational series, "The Voyage of the Mimi" (1984, 1988). He then gained recognition in the indie comedy "Dazed and Confused" (1993) and various Kevin Smith films like "Mallrats" (1995), "Chasing Amy" (1997), and "Dogma" (1999).

Ben's big break came when he and his childhood friend Matt Damon won the Golden Globe and Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for "Good Will Hunting" (1997), a film in which they also starred. This led to his leading roles in studio films such as "Armageddon" (1998), "Pearl Harbor" (2001), "The Sum of All Fears" (2002), and "Changing Lanes" (2002).

Following a career downturn with movies like "Daredevil" (2003) and "Gigli" (2003), Ben made a comeback with a Golden Globe nomination for his role as George Reeves in the noir biopic "Hollywoodland" (2006). His directorial debut, "Gone Baby Gone" (2007), was well-received, and he continued to impress with his crime drama "The Town" (2010) and the political thriller "Argo" (2012), both of which he co-wrote, directed, and starred in.

Ben's directorial success with "Argo" earned him the Golden Globe and BAFTA Award for Best Director, as well as the Golden Globe, BAFTA, and Academy Award for Best Picture. Since then, he has starred in notable films like "Gone Girl" (2014), "The Accountant" (2016), "Triple Frontier" (2019), and "The Way Back" (2020). In 2016, Ben took on the role of Batman in superhero films set in the DC Extended Universe.

Ben is not only an actor and filmmaker but also a dedicated philanthropist. He co-founded the Eastern Congo Initiative, a grantmaking and advocacy-based nonprofit organization. He is also known for his support of the Democratic Party and, together with Matt Damon, co-owns the production company Pearl Street Films. With such an impressive career and commitment to making a difference, Ben Affleck continues to entertain and inspire audiences.
