Meet Sir Anthony Hopkins, an incredibly talented Welsh actor, film director, and producer! With a career spanning over six decades, Hopkins has received numerous accolades, including two Academy Awards, four British Academy Film Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, a British Academy Television Award, an honorary Golden Globe Award, and the BAFTA Fellowship. In 1993, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his contributions to the arts.

Hopkins began his training at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and later at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. He then joined the Royal National Theatre in 1965, where he starred in productions such as King Lear, one of his favorite Shakespeare plays. He last appeared on stage in a West End production of M. Butterfly in 1989.

In 1968, Hopkins made his film debut as Richard the Lionheart in The Lion in Winter. He gained recognition in the mid-1970s and was hailed as "the greatest actor of his generation" by director Richard Attenborough, who directed five of Hopkins' films. In 1991, Hopkins portrayed the iconic role of Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs, winning the Academy Award for Best Actor. He reprised the role in its sequels Hannibal and Red Dragon.

Throughout his career, Hopkins has delivered many memorable performances in films such as The Elephant Man, 84 Charing Cross Road, Howards End, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Shadowlands, Legends of the Fall, Meet Joe Black, The Mask of Zorro, Thor, Thor: The Dark World, Transformers: The Last Knight, and Thor: Ragnarok. He has received four more Academy Award nominations for his roles in The Remains of the Day, Nixon, Amistad, and The Two Popes. In 2020, he won his fourth BAFTA Award and a second Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of an elderly man diagnosed with dementia in The Father.

Hopkins has also made several television appearances, including his BBC debut in 1967. He won a British Academy Television Award for Best Actor for his performance in War and Peace in 1973. He has since starred in the BBC films The Dresser and King Lear, as well as the HBO television series Westworld.
