"Mrs. Doubtfire" is a heartwarming comedy about Daniel Hillard (played by Robin Williams), a loving yet irresponsible father who, after a tough divorce and limited visitation rights, disguises himself as a British nanny to stay close to his children. Taking on the persona of Mrs. Doubtfire, Daniel not only wins the affection of his kids but learns the true meaning of parenting and responsibility. Sally Field stars as Miranda Hillard, Daniel's ex-wife, who initially remains unaware of the ruse.
Trivia:
1. Robin Williams' transformation into Mrs. Doubtfire involved hours of makeup each day, applying a costume and prosthetics that made him virtually unrecognizable.
2. Williams improvised many of his scenes, bringing his unique comedic touch to the character, which added a spontaneous humor to the film.
3. The film’s director, Chris Columbus, initially hesitated casting Williams because of concerns about his unpredictability, but Williams' professionalism and creativity won him over during production.
