Khwab follows the journey of Pratap Kumar Srivastav, a determined young man who leaves his hometown of Shyam Nagar to seek better opportunities in the bustling city of Bombay. Upon arrival, he is fortunate to be hired by Ram Prasad, a trusted friend of his father. To establish himself in the city, Pratap rents a modest room in a lively chawl called 'Asha Manzil' located in Borivali, where he reconnects with his longtime friend Gopal Mathur and becomes acquainted with Gopal's charming sister, Maya.
With a clear vision for his future, Pratap is driven by ambition to achieve success, accumulate wealth, and fulfill his dream of owning a flat in the upscale neighborhood of Malabar Hills. Along the way, he also captivates the heart of Indrani, the daughter of his boss Ram Prasad, leading to a budding romance that culminates in an engagement, marking a milestone in both his personal and professional life.
However, just as Pratap’s fortunes seem to soar, a sudden and shocking turn of events darkens his path. On the day of his engagement to Indrani, Pratap mysteriously disappears. Soon after, devastating news reaches Indrani and Ram Prasad that Pratap has been arrested and faces serious charges: he is accused of murdering Maya, a pregnant woman connected to his life in Asha Manzil. This unexpected twist thrusts his world into turmoil, raising questions about truth, justice, and his fate.
