In the 2014 action-thriller “John Wick,” directed by Chad Stahelski, we are introduced to the eponymous character, played by the talented Keanu Reeves. John Wick is a former hitman, once known in the underworld as “Baba Yaga” or “The Bogeyman” for his ruthless efficiency and lethal skills. After the death of his wife, John attempts to lead a quiet life, away from his past life of violence and crime.
However, his peaceful existence is shattered when a group of gangsters, led by Viggo Tarasov, played by Michael Nyqvist, break into his home, steal his vintage car, and kill the adorable puppy his wife had given him as a final gift. The puppy, Daisy, was the last connection John had to his beloved wife, and the senseless act of violence pushes him over the edge, forcing him to return to his old ways.
What follows is a thrilling, action-packed journey as John Wick seeks vengeance against those who wronged him. With a $2 million bounty on his head, Wick must fight his way through an army of assassins, all while uncovering the dark secrets of the underworld he had once left behind. As the stakes get higher and the body count rises, Wick must ultimately confront Viggo Tarasov, the man responsible for orchestrating the attack on his home and the death of his puppy.
