Speed

In un grattacielo un malvivente mina un ascensore perché vuole molti milioni di dollari per salvare coloro che l'ascensore trasporta. L'agente speciale Jack Traven e il collega Harry, esperto di esplosivi, intervengono e riescono a sventare il piano criminale. Irritato per l'insuccesso e per il premio conferito a Jack ed Harry, il malvivente mette una bomba su un autobus pubblico: il mezzo, superando le 50 miglia orarie, innesca un ordigno che esploderà, qualora l'autobus marciasse a velocità inferiore.
