"Hysterical" follows Frederic Lansing, a dedicated writer in search of inspiration who decides to spend some time in the eerie town of Hellview, Oregon. He takes residence in an old, isolated lighthouse, hoping that the solitude and haunting beauty of the place will spark his creativity. However, soon after settling in, Frederic encounters strange occurrences that hint at a supernatural presence within the lighthouse walls.
The ghost haunting the lighthouse is Venetia, a tragic figure who took her own life a century ago. Venetia’s restless spirit seeks to use Frederic as a conduit for her deceased husband, the ominous Captain Howdy. As the story unfolds, Frederic finds himself caught in the midst of this ghostly possession. When Captain Howdy’s spirit begins targeting and killing people, the situation quickly escalates beyond a simple haunting.
To unravel the mystery and stop the deadly paranormal events, two bumbling scientists—Dr. Paul Batton and his companion—are called in to investigate the lighthouse's dark history. Their comedic mishaps and scientific inquiries provide a humorous contrast to the chilling events, as they work to uncover the truth behind the lighthouse’s tragic past and find a way to end the ghostly rampage. "Hysterical" blends supernatural thriller elements with comedy, creating a unique and engaging narrative.
