Honeyland follows the life of the last female wild beekeeper in Europe, Hatidze Muratova, who lives in a remote Macedonian village. She practices a rare and ancient tradition of sustainable beekeeping, harvesting honey with care and respect for the natural world. Her philosophy centers on a vital rule: only to take half of the honey from each hive, leaving the other half for the bees to thrive.
However, when a nomadic family moves nearby and disrupts this delicate balance by over-harvesting honey without regard for the bees, it sets off a chain of environmental and personal challenges. Hatidze faces the daunting task of educating the newcomers about the importance of maintaining harmony with nature and the consequences of greed.
