Cast and Crew of Homo Promo

Homo Promo

Homo Promo is a dazzling compilation that brings to life the rich history of LGBT cinema through an extraordinary collection of vintage movie trailers. Spanning the years 1953 to 1977, this showcase serves as an engaging and educational crash course on queer representation in mainstream film. Each trailer provides a unique glimpse into the cultural landscape of the time, highlighting the evolving portrayal of lesbian, gay, bi, and transgender characters and themes on the silver screen.

Curated by renowned archivist Jenni Olson, one of the foremost experts in LGBT film history, Homo Promo features rare original 35mm trailers from her private collection. These captivating clips have been presented at various LGBT film festivals worldwide, delighting audiences with their campy and vibrant celebration of queer cinema. Olson's dedication ensures that these iconic glimpses into the past continue to resonate and entertain, preserving important moments in film history.

Although the archival 35mm prints show signs of aging and wear, their authenticity and historical value shine through. Recognizing their significance, all prints have been generously donated to the Outfest/UCLA Legacy Project for LGBT Film Preservation. There, they are receiving expert care to ensure that this invaluable cinematic heritage remains accessible for future generations to appreciate and study.
