La serie comienza con la llegada de Tony Stark a Japón, en un intento por reunir a dos países tecnológicamente avanzados, usando la tecnología ARK para mejorar la defensa de Japón. Allí conoce a la Dra. Tanaka Chika, experta en el campo de la física y científica encargada del laboratorio 23 (laboratorio destinado para Tony en Japón y los inventos que él y los científicos japoneses hagan). Por otro lado, conoce a 2 periodistas del Tokyo Journal, siendo de interés del Sr. Stark la periodista Nanami Outa. Esta en un principio piensa que es un mujeriego pervertido (cosa parcialmente cierta), pero después de un incidente, donde Iron Man la salva de un grupo terrorista llamado "Zodiaco", cambia su forma de pensa.
