Meet the cast of Dovbush

Set in the early eighteenth century, 'Dovbush' tells the story of two brothers from the Hutsul region who become opryshkos, or mountain outlaws, amidst the harsh foreign rule over the Carpathians. As their paths diverge—one driven by greed and the other, Oleksa, by a deep commitment to his people—the region is engulfed in uprisings. Facing powerful aristocrats determined to crush their rebellion, Oleksa's legendary courage and cunning are put to the ultimate test, especially when his enemies exploit his love for Marichka, his childhood sweetheart, in a deadly scheme. The film explores themes of loyalty, love, and resistance as the hero fights to lead his people to freedom.
