In the animated movie 'Despicable Me,' the character of Gru is brilliantly voiced by none other than Steve Carell. Gru, who is known for his villainous ways, is notorious for being despicable, deplorable, and generally unlikable. He truly lives up to his reputation in this film, as he sets out on a mission that is as absurd as it is ambitious - to literally steal the moon from the sky. Gru finds himself becoming the reluctant guardian to Margo (voiced by Miranda Cosgrove), Edith, and Agnes. Despite his initial frustrations with the added responsibility, these lovable orphans begin to melt even Gru's cold, shriveled heart. As Gru grapples with his new role, the plot of 'Despicable Me' begins to shift towards themes of love, family, and redemption, making it a surprisingly heartwarming tale disguised as a story of villainy.
