"Crossroads-Pocket Money" delves into the complex lives of intertwined characters facing profound personal challenges and moral dilemmas. The narrative begins with the story of Ma Ji (Liu Dehua) and Zhu Nu (Liu Yijun), two brothers bound not by blood but by a deep sense of brotherhood and loyalty. Having weathered numerous storms and trials together, their bond seemed unbreakable. However, tragedy strikes when an accidental fire they inadvertently start results in significant casualties, forcing them to confront their choices and destinies. Ma Ji resolves to transform himself into a better man, seeking redemption, while Zhu Nu drifts away, following a divergent and solitary path.

Parallel to their story is that of A Bang (Stephen Chow), a son-in-law born into privilege with a golden spoon in his mouth. Yet, his life takes a dark turn when he falls into drug addiction, leading him down a path of self-destruction and despair. The series poignantly explores the consequences of his choices and the impact of his downfall on those around him.

The drama also portrays Arvin (Tony Leung), a kind-hearted and devoted son who cares for his ailing mother. His world is upended when he becomes embroiled in a violent confrontation on a basketball court after being persistently harassed by gangsters. Unable to tolerate the provocation, the clash results in tragedy, and Arvin finds himself pursued by the police. Through these interconnected stories, "Crossroads-Pocket Money" examines themes of brotherhood, redemption, addiction, and the harsh realities faced by individuals at critical crossroads in their lives.
