Holly, a dedicated professor at a small college, has long struggled with finding the right partner despite her impressive accomplishments and strong career. Her romantic misadventures have left her cautious, but when her younger sister announces her pregnancy, Holly becomes motivated to seriously pursue love. At the same college, David, a kind-hearted and intelligent single father also working as a professor, crosses paths with Holly when they are assigned to plan the annual Christmas Formal together. Despite his genuine warmth and intellect, David’s quiet nature means he doesn't initially capture Holly's attention.
