The 2019 HBO miniseries "Chernobyl" tells the gripping true story of one of the most catastrophic man-made disasters in history: the nuclear accident that occurred at the Chernobyl power plant in the Soviet Union on April 26, 1986. The five-part series takes viewers on a harrowing journey through the events leading up to the explosion, the immediate aftermath, and the clean-up efforts that followed, all while highlighting the bravery and selflessness of the individuals who risked their lives to save others.
At the heart of the story are two central characters: Valery Legasov, played by Jared Harris, and Boris Shcherbina, portrayed by Stellan Skarsgård.
