Bucktown follows Duke Johnson as he arrives in a small Southern town to bury his brother, only to find himself entangled in the town's simmering tensions. Following the funeral, Duke discovers that he must remain in Bucktown for 60 days to manage his brother's estate, a delay that draws him deeper into the community’s challenges. Encouraged by several locals, Duke reopens his late brother’s nightclub, attempting to breathe new life into the town’s nightlife.
However, Duke's plans quickly spark conflict with the local law enforcement, a group of corrupt and violent redneck policemen who intimidate him and demand bribes. Unwilling to give in, Duke stands his ground alongside his loyal companion Aretha, both facing threats and physical attacks. Realizing the severity of the situation and the inability to handle it alone, Duke reaches out to his old friend Roy, who arrives with a group of allies determined to restore order.
With the corrupt officers driven out, Duke starts to relax, believing justice has prevailed. Yet peace is fleeting in Bucktown, as new conflicts emerge, forcing Duke to confront the mounting dangers on his own terms. Ultimately, the story culminates in Duke confronting his adversaries head-on, seeking to settle the score and secure his and Aretha's future in the town.
