Blackrock

Set against the sun-drenched beaches of New South Wales, "Blackrock" follows the story of Jared Kirby, a young surfer navigating the complexities of adolescence and friendship. Portrayed by Laurence Breuls, Jared enjoys carefree days with his mates and embarks on his first romantic relationship. However, the idyllic setting is shattered during a beach party he hosts for his older friend Ricko, where Jared witnesses a horrific crime: four of his friends gang-rape a 15-year-old girl. Stricken by fear and shock, Jared chooses silence, an act that leaves him tormented when the next day, the girl is found murdered.

The aftermath of the tragedy sends ripples through the school and community. While the girls react with outrage and demand justice for the victim, many boys respond with cruelty, attacking the dead girl's character rather than confronting the heinous acts. The adults, including parents like Diane Kirby played by Linda Cropper, struggle to process their emotions and decide how to address the brewing conflict amongst their children.
